Dignity, in the details.
A preferred routine. Time to make a choice. Privacy during personal care. Respect is part of how everyday assistance should feel.
Behind every request for support is a person with a life, a routine and a story. That is where we begin.
Talk about care
Professional experience shaped the knowledge. A family experience made it personal.
A chapter in the founder’s caregiving experience at the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home in Massachusetts.
Shabalome Home Care is inspired by both professional caregiving and a personal family connection to dementia.
In 2001, the founder worked with clients living with dementia at the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Their grandmother also lived with dementia, bringing a family perspective to the experience of care.
Those experiences inform our approach today: take time to understand the person, respect what is familiar, and recognise the people and routines that matter to them.
For families exploring support, the first step may feel unfamiliar. We begin with a conversation, making room for questions and the everyday details that help us understand what you need.
The founder’s caregiving background combines formal certifications with practical experience supporting people in everyday life.
To offer thoughtful, non-medical assistance that respects individual choices, familiar routines and personal dignity.
More people able to stay connected to the everyday life they value, with support at home and in their community.
Care is personal. These principles guide the conversations we have and the support we work to arrange.
A preferred routine. Time to make a choice. Privacy during personal care. Respect is part of how everyday assistance should feel.
Good support begins with listening. Understanding someone’s interests, pace and preferences helps make each day feel more familiar.
Families deserve to understand the support being discussed. Services, schedules, availability and costs should be agreed before care begins.
From companionship and personal care assistance to meals, everyday movement and transportation, our services focus on practical, non-medical help.
We’ll talk through your circumstances and the available options, including live-in care where appropriate. The right arrangement begins with understanding what a good day looks like for you.
